We are an employability education charity with a mission to help young people succeed in work by developing their career awareness, aspirations and employability skills. Our ‘tree’ is more than a thousand volunteers who answer young people’s questions about their experiences of work.
With roots in Milton Keynes since 1992, and education values based on inclusion and impartiality, Worktree (formerly Countec EBP) has organised 50,000 work placements and facilitated 20,000 meetings with diverse work guests in schools. We have also run our own work-based ‘school without walls’ for excluded 14-16 year olds.
Today we are focused on a vision of introducing every young person to 50 guests from the world of work and developing facilitators to do the same nationally and internationally.
We receive funding mainly from schools and businesses, and spend it all on meeting the needs of our beneficiaries: young people and employers.
