Jenny Howells is Corporate Fundraising Officer for MK Hospital, attended Oakgrove School as a Career WorkOut guest on Thursday 12th November.
“I went along to talk to students about my career path which is a little unusual,” she said. “I’ve moved around a lot from one temporary contract to another until finding a job I love at the age of 27!
“I have now been in my current job for over two years and felt my experience might help some of the students – and of course have the chance to give something back to the local community.
“At first I was a bit nervous, I wanted to come across as a professional, but at the same time portray how fun and varied my job can be. I was worried the students would not find what I had to say very interesting!
“After a short while however I settled into the session and had a great time – it was a very positive experience.
“This sort of workshop is a great experience for the students, but also for me as well. It felt good to be able to help others and made me feel very rewarded afterwards. I would definitely recommend this to anyone – no matter what they do.”
