Ettore Parisi and Katie Hills of Cranswick Convenience Foods attended their first Career WorkOut at St Paul’s Catholic School last month. Here’s what they had to say about their experience.
Ettore Parisi is a Training Assessor and has been with the company for 16 years and an assessor for 11 years.
“I took part in this activity to get experience in talking to young students, and telling them about the company and my job role”
“The students interacted well, asked good questions and were interested in what I said”.
“Being involved felt really good and it was great to discuss my work and job. I hope I helped students with sharing knowledge of my workplace. I feel students gained some knowledge too”.
Katie Hills is a Training Apprentice at Cranswick and has been in the role for 2 months.
“I decided to take part in a Career WorkOut as I thought it would be a good opportunity for the students to be able to talk to someone who is currently doing an apprenticeship course within the company and has not long come out of education”.
“Being involved made me realise that young people are a lot more interested in their future and education but are also worried about their GCSEs. I hope we have been able to make them feel more at ease about the future”.
