For the first time, Thames Valley Police have overtaken The Open University in Worktree’s league table of corporate volunteering 2017-18. The Police have now booked 42 Career WorkOut sessions in 2017-18 (20 already attended) compared The OU’s 34 (26 already attended). This compares with last year’s 29 sessions attended by staff from The Open University and 15 from Thames Valley Police (see league table 2016-17). Both companies are in the top five of all MK’s large companies, showing extraordinary commitment to both current staff and future generations of MK workers.
This year’s league table is still topped by Network Rail, followed by Santander and NHBC.
“What these companies are doing for MK’s young people is incredible,” said Worktree’s Tom Bulman. “Every hour given by an employee creates eight conversations with eight small groups of young people…and the sparks of inspiration fly. 10 one-hour employee visits make 80 conversations involving 240 young people. Magic.”
“We love it,” said Police Inspector Michael Morland. Click here to find out more about Michael’s experience.
