Develop Employability Skills

A report published by the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) concluded that ‘employability’ comprised a mix of attributes, skills and knowledge, which everyone needs to be effective in work.

The CBI’s seven point model emphasised the importance of seven core employability skills:  Literacy & communication, Numeracy, IT, Self management, Team work, Problem solving, and Business & Customer Awareness.

Worktree focuses on developing the five employability skills which are the least taught and assessed in school, as illustrated above.  We call these skills the ‘STEPS’ which should be practised before entering work and we deliver a series of Employability Now workshops to help young people develop these skills.
