I wanted to give something back to the community – Cheryl Lamin – UCC Coffee

Worktree are delighted to have been contacted by Cheryl Lamin of UCC Coffee who wants to engage more with our local Schools and young people.  Cheryl is a Learning & Development Manager at UCC Coffee UK and has been working there for 6 years.

“I decided to take part in a Virtual Career WorkOut session with Worktree because I wanted to give something back to the community.  I feel it’s important to help support the next generation in their career decisions, giving them advice and help.  Letting them know that it doesn’t matter what your background is, if you are passionate about something and you work hard, you can achieve anything.

“I didn’t really didn’t know what to expect, but it was fun, informal, well organised and I was very impressed by the level of questions that the students were asking.

“It was nice to make a difference to a younger person, as well as supporting my colleagues at UCC Coffee.  I spent the rest of the week sharing my experiences with my colleagues and felt positive about it all.

“I would definitely recommend others in my company to do this.  It’s a nice way to support students without having to take hours away from your day-to-day role.   Every person can spare 40 minutes.  I am already looking forward to my next session”.
