Jade Herd wins Worktree prize as NHBC celebrates Our Communities
NHBC launched its new ‘Our Communities’ campaign to support local and national charities with a rousing speech from CEO Steve Wood. Charity partners including Worktree, recent beneficiaries of NHBC sponsorship, had the opportunity to meet with more than 70 NHBC staff who attended the event. Worktree CEO Tom Bulman explained that NHBC staff will interest school students with the diversity of their roles and experiences, and every NHBC worker is welcome in a Virtual Career WorkOut session. “Conversations are everything, that’s our theory of change,” he said. “It’s just 40 minutes of your time, and what you say in answering their questions can make all the difference to a young person’s life.”
At the end of the event, with 31 NHBC signed up to volunteer for a Virtual Career WorkOut session, one name was randomly selected by NHBC’s Tracey for a prize £15 Amazon voucher. And the winner was Jade Herd, Data Controller who’s only been with NHBC for a few months. “That was easy,” said Jade.
Worktree looks forward to seeing Jade and other NHBC staff in a Virtual Career WorkOut session. It’s easy, educational and fun. Just click www.worktree.org/events to find a session you’d like to join.
