On Tuesday 1st May, 237 pupils took part in three Career WorkOut sessions – one each for Year 7, 8 and 9 – at Sir Herbert Leon Academy. 31 guests from 14 local companies answered their questions about what it’s like in their job.
The results showed higher than average increases in employability confidence experienced by the students after the sessions
- 17.2% increase in “I am confident making choices about my future work options” (MK average is 13.6%)
- 23.7% increase in “I am confident talking to adults I don’t know” (MK average is 19.8%).
“We think it’s important for students who live in this more remote area of MK to meet a wide variety of different worker,” said Worktree’s Tom Bulman, “so they can make inspired and realistic choices about which steps to take next for a good work life.”
