Onlining Worktree’s popular card game
Last month we asked you to complete our surveymonkey survey to help with the data we need to update our popular trumps-style Job Cards for young people to use at school and home. Big thanks to all those who took the time to complete it! The team have been busy collating more data, working with careers consultants and designers, so that the cards are ready to be printed later this month.
The jobs on the cards have been updated to reflect some of the jobs that students talk about in our Career WorkOuts, but also jobs that we predict being relevant beyond the Covid crisis. ‘Virologist’ is one of the new entries, along with ‘Robotics Engineer’ and ‘Influencer’. Thanks to the expert help of Lisa Hathway from NHBC, we’ve also added a new ‘Environment Friendly’ comparison category to the trumps game. There are thousands of jobs in the ever-changing job market and it’s hard to select the right 48 to represent in this game…but we’re enjoying the process.
We plan to extend this resource further, beyond being just a physical card game, to being a powerful online careers education resource that guides the ‘player’ through their ‘strengths’ and ‘likes’ to identify the jobs best suited to them. This resource will be for schools, parents, job seekers and Careers Leads. Stay tuned to find out how we are going to do this.
