Ousedale students return to Dentons Den

For the third year running, students from Ousedale School took part in a unique one-day employability training experience hosted by Dentons law firm in Central Milton Keynes.

14 sixth-formers were put through their paces in a variety of roles including job applicant, short-listing panelist, interviewer and interviewee.  Part of their training was to take part in a carousel of conversations with seven Dentons staffers, including one of the partners in the company.

In post-event evaluation, 72% of the students said the day out of school exceeded their expectations; all said it had met their expectations; none were disappointed.   Their favourite part of the day was the carousel of interviews with Dentons staff and being able to ask whatever they wanted about working at Dentons.

Emma Sweet-Roe, Ousedale’s Careers Manager, said:  “At a critical point in Year 13 Post-18 decisions, what a great day for students possibly interested in law.   The pace of the activities meant they were always engaged and interested.

“You really can’t beat meeting “real people” who “do the job” to give an insight to students about the real working world in Law.  We are so grateful to Dentons and Worktree for organising the day and really putting their all in to it so the students could get the most out of it.  It was fantastic, Thank you so much!”
