Tracey Lathwell, Tesco – Career Workout Experience
Tracey Lathwell is a People Advisor at Tesco and has been there for 13 years. Tracey took part in her first Career WorkOut at The Radcliffe School last week.
“I was contacted by Theresa Mercer of Worktree through LinkedIn and decided to give it a go. I have also done similar volunteer sessions with the IGD (The Institute of Grocery Distribution) and found it to be a very interesting and rewarding opportunity”.
“I visited Radcliffe School in Wolverton. I answered questions about my role, how I got into it and general questions prompted by the session facilitator around skills you need for work and how to work with different kinds of people in a team”.
“This experience reminded me of what I have learnt and achieved since I was their age and what drives me to do my chosen profession. It was a surprising mix where some young people seemed quite clued up about their futures and others were not”.
“It was great to be able to give insight and share experiences with those who will be venturing into the world of work for the first time. It was fun too and everyone made us feel very welcome and valued”.
