Career Snapshot Development Update
Worktree has been working hard to make Career Snapshot a reality. Web development is underway and our amazing volunteers have been submitting their video snapshots.
We currently have an alpha build of the front-end that, once finished, will provide students with a digital library of real workers to browse. It is a bit too early to show everybody, but we look forward to showcasing this to our stakeholders for feedback sometime in the near future.
We are immensely appreciative of those of you that have recorded your Career Snapshot; your responses are helping us build a more sustainable future for Worktree. BUT to give this the greatest chance of success, we need even more of you to help. All you need is a phone, tablet or computer device (with a webcam/microphone) and 20 minutes of spare time. Please see the joining instructions below.
To give you an idea of what your video response might look like, here is a great example from Jessica Compton, Marketing co-ordinator and CRM consultant for PragmatiQ Solutions:
What is Career Snapshot?
Career Snapshot will be a resource from which schools, students and volunteers, can benefit both during the corona virus crisis and, more importantly beyond, helping towards the sustainability of the charity. It will be a browseable online library of real world jobs with short video responses from our volunteers answering typical student questions about their experiences of work and their job role in particular.
To record your Career Snapshot you will need a phone, tablet or computer with video and audio capture. The idea is that you simply record 9 short video responses to typical student questions using the Willo platform. Here is how you do that:
- Fill out the quick Google form here – We need this important data to help segment the workers. There is a link to Trello included on this form.
- Follow the link to Willo – Willo is a video recruitment platform that we are using to gather responses. It is simple to use and works on nearly all devices
- Record your responses – Willo will ask you 9 questions about your job. You simply need to record yourself answering these questions and don’t worry, you can re-record as many times as you like!
